David will be the Mainstay of the Argentine Team against Russia
David Nalbandian will be once again the mainstay of the Davis Cup team that will face Russia between the 19th and 21st of September in the semifinals of this centenarian tournament. This is what the Argentine captain, Alberto Mancini, confirmed. He has also called on the junior man from Tandil, Juan Martín Del Potro- whose performance in the US Open has been remarkable-, and the experienced Guillermo Cañas and Agustín Calleri. The series is to be played in the Parque Roca stadium, where 14 thousand people will cheer the chance of reaching the finals for the third time in history (the previous ones were in 1981 and 2006). On Friday, the first two singles matches begin at 11, on Saturday the doubles at midday, and on Sunday the last singles match at 11 o´clock. If nothing unusual happens, Nalbandian and Del Potro will be the singles players starting the series against Andreev and Davydenko respectively.
