The Doubles Passed up, but David is Fine.
The doubles of the series in the Davis Cup, between Argentina and Russia was within reach, but it passed up in the end and Russia is now 1-2. David, together with Cañas, lost to Tursonov-Kunitsyn 6-2, 6-1, 6-7 (9), 3-6 and 8-6 in a three-hour-36-minute match. Minutes later, the man from Córdoba told his official Website: “I am fine, relaxed”, when he was asked about his physical debilitation. On Sunday, he will play the first of the last two singles against Nikolay Davydenko, an opponent to whom he is over 5-3 and to whom he won in the Davis in Moscow, in the final 2006. If he wins, the national team will reach the final for the third time in history (the previous ones were in 1981 and 2006), and the last two would be with the participation of the man from Unquillo as undisputed leader of the team.
