Chela, David’s First Opponent in the Argentine Cup
The Argentine Cup, the exhibition tournament played in the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis on carpet, has already appointed David Nalbandian´s opponent for the first round. He will be Juan Ignacio Chela, in the quarter finals of the tournament. If he defeats the “Flaco” from Ciudad Evita, he will then face the winner of the match between Guillermo Cañas and Juan Mónaco. David has faced Chela six times and is 4-2 in the record. However, the man from Córdoba has won the four times consecutively since 2003, being then clear favorite to move forward to semifinals. The other matches in quarter finals are Agustín Calleri- Feliciano López and José Acasuso- Gastón Gaudio. Cañas (2003 and 2006), Gaudio (2004) and Nalbandian (2005 and 2007) have been the winners of this tournament so far.
