David wont´ be able to defend his Crown in the Telmex Cup.
David Nalbandian, the man from Córdoba, who was defending the title, was surprisingly knocked out of the Buenos Aires Open, the Telmex Cup, in semifinals when losing to Juan "Pico" Mónaco 2-6, 7-5 and 7-6 (2) in two hours and 41 minutes. The “King” greatly dominated the first set and almost the whole second set till he was two points from the victory. The scoreboard was on his side 6-2, 5-4 and 30-0 but the man from Tandil managed to get over until he tied the match (7-5). In the third set, they went game by game till the tie-break, but Mónaco´s game was more intense by the end and, having a better physical response, he dethroned Nalbandian of the tournament he had won in 2008. Mónaco is playing the final against the Spaniard Tommy Robredo tomorrow Sunday.
