A Good Debut in Monte Carlo
David set off to a good start in the Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo, where he is beggining his tour around Europe on clay. In his debut, he defeated the Frenchman Paul Mathieu 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3, in the first round, and will now face the Spaniard Marcel Granollers, one of the members of the Spanish Team for the Davis Cup that won the “ensaladera” in Mar del Plata. The Iberian blocked the way for a duel between Argentine players since he eliminated Chucho Acasuso 7-6 and 7-6. This will be the first match between David and Granollers in the circuit. In 2008, the man from Córdoba reached quarter finals and then was defeated by Roger Federer in three sets: 5-7, 6-2 and 6-2.
