We do not prefer clay any longer?
Except for Juan Del Potro, the rest of the Argentine tennis players quickly said goodbye to Roland Garros, the Grand Slam on clay where the members of the Legion’s performance should be best. However, the results were no good. Only two players reached the third round (Del Potro and Machi González) and only the man from Tandil won in that stage. What’s the problem? Are Argentine players no longer specialists on clay? "Tennis is played more and more on fast courts, the slow season this year is a crazy thing: five weeks, it is becoming shorter and shorter. By nature, I always felt more comfortable on fast courts than on clay, but this feeling that we are now turning to fast courts comes from time to time: if Juan Martín (Del Potro) weren’t playing- he also likes fast courts- they would all prefer clay", said Nalbandian. The truth is that the country’s number one and two prefer fast surfaces. Could that be the reason why they are in the vanguard?
