David still holds the 14t Position in the ATP World Ranking
Due to the protected ranking he holds for his hip operation, David kept the 14th position in the world ranking this week. However, the protection of his position does not mean he will not lose points. This month, Nalbandian will lose 250 points (150 from the US Open 2008 and 100 from the Olympic Games in Beijing), which will hardly affect the 2,565 he’s got right now. The key month will be October when he had great performances in 2008. He will lose 700 from the final in the Masters 1000 in Paris, 150 from the Masters 1000 in Madrid, 450 for having won the Stockholm ATP and 350 from the final in Basle. Total: 1,650.
