Nalbandian wants to play before Australia
The date scheduled for David’s return to the courts is mid January at the Australia Open, the first Grand Slam of the season. However, "the King" is considering-if his recovery is satisfactory-playing the Copa Argentina in December (An exhibition tournament at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis) or the Sydney ATP, where he would defend the title he won this year. The aim is not to start competing again in such a demanding tournament as the Grand Slam, with five-set matches. "If everything turns out fine, the idea is to try to play some matches. But that is not for sure, it will depend on my progress. That would be the ideal thing, but whether it is possible or not will be determined by my rehabilitation”, he stated.
