The ones who left their Marks in a Grand Slam Final
Only seven players in the Argentine history of tennis have reached a singles final in a Grand Slam. The main representative is, undoubtedly, Guillermo Vilas, who won four Majors (Roland Garros, US Open and two Australia Open) and made his way to quarterfinals. Gabriela Sabatini (one Wimbledon and two US Open), "King" David (Wimbledon 2002), Gastón Gaudio and Guillermo Coria (Roland Garros 2004), Mariano Puerta (Roland Garros 2005) and now Juan Martín Del Potro (US Open 2009) are also part of the list. David’s performances in the junior’s draws of the important tournaments were also outstanding: Champion in the Junior US Open 1998, finalist in Juniors Roland Garros 1999, semifinalist in Wimbledon 1999 in singles and champion in doubles sub 20 together with Coria in Wimbledon 1999. This was a preview of what would come later on.
