Nalbandian Could not Beat Fish
David was up against the American Mardy Fish, but he could not close the game out and ended up losing in a tie-breaker in the third set. At the end, the top-10 from Cordoba lost 6-3, 6-7 (5) and 7-6 (4), and had to say goodbye to the Indian Wells Masters Series. Nalbandian did not only resign himself to reaching the semi-finals but he also resigned to his winning streak of 15 matches in the Masters Series (counting the two tournaments he won in Madrid and Paris in 2007) and to the possibility of being sixth in the ATP rankings. In a tight match, Fish came out with his great serves and David was close to winning when they were 6-5 with his serve in the third round. But the American played an incredible match, broke the tie and won. Now “King David” will have another chance to get even in the Miami Masters Series which begins next Thursday.
